Who can sign for treatment?

Any client above the age of 18 or above can sign for their own treatment. For dependents under the age of 18, the custodial parent must sign. The signing parent must bring a copy of the custodial paperwork for intake before the first session can begin. If there is shared custody between parents, it is preferred that both parents sign for the treatment of a child.

How long are sessions?

Session length is approximately 50 minutes.

How often will I be seen?

Clients are usually seen once per week or bi-weekly, although this can vary due to medical necessity, and the client's current circumstance.

What if I need to cancel or change my appointment?

Appointments require 24 hours notice for cancellation. If this requirement is not met, a full fee for service will be charged to your account. I can be notified of cancellations by email or phone.

What if I cancel 23 hours in advance, even though you request a 24 hr notice?

Unless there are extenuating circumstances, there will be a fee charged for appointments not cancelled within the 24 hour window requested.

What if I begin with marital therapy, stop the marital therapy, and one of us wants to continue in individual therapy with you?

This would be allowed, only with the written consent of the partner who has decided to stop coming to marital counseling

What if I have a problem with my therapist?

It is helpful to the therapeutic process to discuss issues as we go along. I invite you to let me know if something needs to be shifted in order to meet your needs. We will work together on finding a reasonable solution.
